Riyadh – Mubasher: New adjustments in the prices of electricity segments will save SAR 14 billion for Saudi Arabia, said Electricity & Cogeneration Regulatory Authority’s (ECRA) governor, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Shehri.

The hike of electricity prices reflects power generation at the current cost of fuel and will contribute to plugging part of the Kingdom's electricity shortage, Al-Shehri added.

The governor noted that this rise will last until the end of 2018 and will be reviewed by the end of this year in case of any changes in fuel prices .

On Tuesday, ECRA adjusted electricity tariff for some subscribers and consumption segments.
